Lola T400 Aeromap Development Lola T400 Formula 5000 Lola T400 Aeromap Development Higgins Motorsport run a 1975 Lola T400 in F5000 competition in New Zealand and Australia. Kinetic Sim created a 3D model of the entire car and developed a fully parametric CFD model to map the downforce, drag and centre of pressure at each front and rear wing setting. Higgins Motorsport used this data to help set the car up at each circuit. This led to them winning the 2014 NZ F5000 Championship. Higgins Motorsport x Avanti Avanti Track/Time Trial Bikes Avanti Bikes Avanti Avanti Track/Time Trial Bikes As part of our ongoing collaboration with Avanti, Dave was involved with the structural, mechanical and aerodynamic development of the Avanti Pista Evo 2 and Chrono Evo 2. The bike has had much competition success winning Gold at the New Delhi Commonwealth Games and the 2012 UCI World Championship. He commissioned KInetic Sim to undertake a full CFD analysis of the car developing a whole new package aimed at drastically increasing downforce while keeping drag to a minimum. The car being a naturally aspirated 20B PP Rotary engine up against high power turbocharged cars meant reducing drag was critical. 3 Rotor Racing x Carl Hansen Racing TVR Tuscan Carl Hansen Racing TVR Tuscan Carl Hansen Racing TVR Tuscan Carl Hansen Racing TVR Tuscan Carl Hansen Racing TVR Tuscan Developing a new aero package for the Carl Hansen Racing TVR Tuscan in the GT1 class in the New Zealand GTRNZ series. The car is already a very potent package with Kinetic Sim being brought on-board to update the aerodynamics on the car to increase front end downforce and rear end efficiency. Carl Hansen Racing x RME Nemesis RME Nemisis Sportscar RME Nemisis Sportscar RME Nemesis RME Nemisis Sportscar Kinetic Sim have been tasked to develop a new aerodynamics package for a Nemesis Sportscar competing in the NZ Sportscar Championship. The design will be developed with CFD and will incorporate all new underbody aerodynamics. Robert Hulme x REMRAF Racing Nissan R35 GTR REMRAF Racing Nissan R35 GTR Endurance REMRAF Racing Nissan R35 GTR REMRAF Racing Nissan R35 GTR REMRAF Racing Nissan R35 GTR Endurance Kinetic Sim are developing a new front end for the REMRAF Racing R35 Nissan GTR which is run in the New Zealand Endurance Series. The car has run in the North Island series and is undergoing some refinements for both aerodynamic downforce, drag reduction and cooling improvements. REMRAF Racing x Andy Higgins / Higgins Motorsport. Kinetic Simulation have helped give us a detailed understanding of the aerodynamics of our car and the Kinetic Sim Aeromap they created has helped us with our setup, leading to winning our championship last season. Who We Are Design and Engineering David Higgins Director David has a strong background in composites, stress analysis and aerodynamics. Since completing a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Auckland, he has worked in motorsport, aerospace and sports engineering. He was a co-founder of the University of Auckland Formula SAE race car team and also competed nationally in single-seaters and Porsches. In aerospace he worked as a Senior Aeronautical Engineer responsible for stress analysis and FEA of composite and metallic structures. He then went on to consulting to Avanti Bikes on the aerodynamic development of their track and time-trial bikes for the Commonwealth Games and London Olympics through CFD Analysis and Wind Tunnel testing. His bikes have received the international Red Dot Design Award and New Zealand’s top product design award, the Supreme Purple Pin.
